Hong Kong Whampoa Dock Company.
The sum of £72 in dis ute, referred to in your savingrau No. 1345 of the 18th December, 1950 has now been identified as being included in the sum of £65,582 1 4 which was part of a larger amount paid by the Crown Agents to the ar Office in 1949.
The ar Office contend that the $72 credit was taken into the B.M.A. Advance Accounts and paid to them. Having effected its recovery,
corresponding adjustment must be made tɔ that
account.
Subject to your confirmation that no further recoveries have been made in respect of the first four items of atatement *y* enclosed, a final settlement could be efrected by payment from Hong ong funds as follows:-

Alternatively, if you will identify the ite. to which the £72.00 was erroneously credited, and will confirm that the balance of $72.00 on that item is irrecoverable, the ar Office will take steps to write off that sum and accept final settle- ment of $2.287.22.
The position of the B.M....... dvance ¿coounts as furnished by the bar office and the outstanding balances are at and "B" respectively of the statement enclosed.
