Dock Co. Ltd.

B.M.A. advances - Hong Kong and Whampoa

The sum of $2,812.70 refers to the sale of rice to this company during the B.M.A. period. The item was not properly an advance but a sale of B.M.A. stores and my savingram 285 of 8th March 1950 sought to correct the error. When the company settled this particular account the receipts were credited to the suspense account for the sale of rice from B.M.A. stores. The disposal of outstanding receipts from the sale of B.M.A. stores was covered by section (vi) of the 1950 financial settlement. The cost of this rice has therefore been met by the credit granted to His Majesty's Government under this section. No further payment is due for this item.

I propose to address you shortly on the remaining items referred to in your savingram 333 of 17th April 1951.
