As regards the grant to the ilong Koag hiversity the peaition, as you know, is that s Majesty's Goverment promised a total sum of $500,000 $250,000 of which was to be found from the Vote for Colonial and Middle Eastern Services and a lie sum by means of a sohene under the Colonial Development and Welfare Act.
Detailed estimates have been received from the University indicating probable expenditure to a total of £101,533. Copies of these estimates will be found with C.D.. Paper (D)2108 which we submitted to you with the Schere on 8th August, 1951. Treasury reference 18 I.P.36/187/025.
