imposition of additional taxation at this stage though
in this connection I must draw your attention to paragraph
4 of my despatch No. 341 of 18th December regarding the
financing of the Reservoir since with the increasing
responsibilities of the U.K. Government for rearmament qu
there is unlikely to be any easing of the situation as
regards the raising of Colonial loans in London.
regards the contribution towards the cost of reinforce-
ments please see my telegram No. 299 in which the hope
was expressed that the contribution would not be less
than last year's.
