The opening of a new fish market in Kowloon has necessitated an increase in inspectorate posts by two. The posts of Supervisor and two tem orary Clerks have been transferred to the Fisheries Department. Provision is made for the salary of a Registrar of Co-operatives for twelve instead of three months. Clerk has replaced a Woman Confidential Assistant and the post of Superintendent abolished.

Personal Emoluments show a slight increase of $2,015 but economics in Other Charges result in a saving of $4,300 with the result that the total provision shows a reduction of $2,285.

Economics in Other Chargos result in a reduction

of $5,000 which together with a saving of $7,500 under Special Expenditure cause a net reduction under the Head of $6,519.

A new grade of Interpreter Translator has been created and one of the 16 now posts has boon allocated to the District Office, Now Territori us. Certain promotions of Clerks and a Woman Confidential Assistant to vacancies in the ap proved establishment have been made and one Cadot Officer Class II has been transferred from the Post Offico. The post of Minos Inspector has buen abolished. During 1949/50 additional temporary staff was authorised involving one Interpreter, one Woman Confidential Assistant and two Demarcators. Consequently Personal Emoluments show an increase of $23,918.

Economics have been made under Other Charges totalling $6,700. Thus the net increase in exponditure on the Head amounts to $17,218.
