Civil measures for defence.
I approve supplementary provisions totalling $8,000,000 for public works and stores in connection with projects for the civil defence of Hong Kong and I agree that these votes should be under the direct control of the Colonial Secretary. I assume however that the Financial Secretary will be kept closely in touch with all expenditure from these votes, in addition to the periodic references to Finance Committee?
