Finance Committee has approved a supplementary provision of $300,000 under Head 38 subhead 19 in the 1950/51 Estimates and your covering approval is sought in accordance with the terms of your despatch No.302 of 25th September, 1948.

As was anticipated when the current estimates were framed, there has been a falling-off of demand in 1950/51, compared with the previous year. This reduction has, however, not been as great as was
originally expected and additional expenditure has been incurred. There is, of course, a corresponding increase in revenue to off-set these disbursements.
