Finance Committee has approved a supplementary
provision of $813,000 under Head 22 Subhead 7 in the 1950/51 Estimates and your covering approval is sought in accordance with the terms of your despatch No.302 of 25th September 1948.

Expenditure has been exceptionally heavy as large numbers of new 10 cent and 5 cent coins were required to replace outworn notes. Additional orders had therefore to be placed with the Royal Mint.
