1950/51 Estimates
Supplementary Provisions.
$5,250,000 was provided under Head 23 Subhead 1 of
1950/51 Estimates far civil pensions, retiring allowances and
gratuities. It has been necessary to provide by special warrant
for supplementary provision of $275,500 and your approval in
(Copy alt.) accordance with paragraph 3 of your despatch 302 of 25th September
1948 is required.
It is difficult to predict the number of retirements
in any one year or the number of officers who elect to draw full
pension or reduced pension and gratuity. In the last financial
year, expenditure on pensions was above average.
