3. Hong Kong Rubber Factory Closes down.

The United Rubber Manufactory announced its voluntary winding-up towards the end of the month. This undertaking, which is of fair size, has attributed its closure to the soaring price of rubber.

This is the second rubber manufactory in the Colony to close during the past five months; the Fung Keung Rubber Manufactory which suspended operations on the 9th August, 1950 is, however, understood to be re-opening early in the new year.
