30th November, 1946.

Sir,

Pre-occupational Claims

I have the honour to address you regarding a pre-occupational claim

received by me in respect of 4,400 sacks of flour requisitioned by the

Hong Kong Government and delivered to the Naval Yard in December, 1941.

The Controller of Food was the requisitioning officer in respect of

all food held in the Colony and on December 9th 1941, 4,400 sacks

equalling 355,500 lbs. of flour were requisitioned from Messrs. L. Dunbar

& Co. for delivery to His Majesty Dockyard and it is understood that

Naval lorries took delivery.

I attach a copy of the requisition.

The cost of the flour was $8.63 per bag which is based on actual

cost plus normal charges and I have therefore to enquire whether you will

accept debit for the sum of $37,972.00 being the cost of this flour.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient servant,

(Sgd.)

Accountant General

The Staff Supply Officer,

H.M. Dockyard,

Hong Kong.
