Dear Mr. Dawson,
(2).

(3)
On January 27th you wrote to my Chairman, Mr. Keswick, acknowledging his letter to Mr. Creech Jones of January 21st with regard to the outstanding claims in respect of the War Supplies Board in Hong Kong. In your letter you expressed Mr. Creech Jones's regret for the delays which had occurred in the correspondence in the past, and you said that a further letter would be sent to Mr. Keswick as soon as possible. A few days afterwards we received an official letter from the Colonial Office stating that the matter was being pursued with the other Departments of the Government, and we would hear further as soon as possible.
Since that time - 1.e. two months ago
we have heard nothing. I wonder whether you would be good enough to stir up this subject again, and let me know what the position is. In doing so you might think it worth while to remind those responsible that the interest charge on these claims is still rolling up at a very disturbing pace.
Yours sincerely.
