Dear Mr. Mitchell,
Having recently taken over Mr. Dawson's work, I am replying to your letter to him or the 25th April regarding the Hong kong ur Supplies Board. As more than one department of the Colonial office is concerned with this problem, it would be convenient if, for the time being, I continued to deal with semi-official correspondence on this subject.
As indicated in our letter of the
19th April, a despatch has recently been sent to the Hong Long Government regarding claims not relating to goods actually supplied, and a reply to that must be awaited before the matter can be further considered. So as to avoid any further unnecessary delay, a telegraphic reminder will be sent to the Hong Kong Government if no reply is received from them by the end of this month.
Yours sincerely,
(sga) C.S. ROBERTS.
G.E. Mitchell, Esq.
Private Secretary.
