Dear Sirs:-

Claims for Passenger Coaches

We have found from our records here and confirmed with Canton-Kowloon Section of Canton-Hankow Railway that at the time of Japanese invasion to Hong Kong and Kowloon we had a total of Twenty-Four Coaches, one being the property of Tao-Chin Railway and balance the property of Canton-Kowloon Railway (Chinese Section), stabled in Kowloon Yard of Kowloon- Canton Railway (British Section). The cost of the Coaches as stood then including due depreciation was estimated at 1,125.0.0 each coach, making a total of L27,000 for 24 coaches.

Will you submit a claim for the above to the Hong Kong Government on behalf of the Ministry as their selling agent to form a part of their total claims as submitted by you on the 31st July, 1946.

Thanking you for your prompt attention,

Yours truly,
