Mr. Creech Jones has asked me to thank you for your letter of the 19th March, which he is sorry not to have acknowledged before this, about the Chinese Government's claims in respect of railway material requisition ed in Hong Kong in 1941 for the War office.

It is necessary to consult the War office about the present position in regard to these claims and this is being done. Mr. Creech Jones will write to you himself on the matter when the information is assembled.

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd.) W.F. DAWSON. PIIV Le Secretary.
