My despatch No.15 of 12th January, 1949
enclosing copy of note dated 21st December, 1948 transmitted by our mbassy in Moscow to Soviet Ministry of Foreign Affair re Soviet vessels.
Foreign Office have not been informed of any reply to note of 21st December referred to above though they do not exclude the possibility of a reply being received- You may, however, wish to consider what, if any, further action should now be taken in the light of paragraph (2) of my savingram No.233 of the 23rd November 1948 and the enclosed copy of a semi-official letter from the Foreign office dated 2nd July, 1949.
