RC/90104. War Damage in Hong Kong.

With reference to my claim for Reparations when at Home, I was advisea, prior to my departure from U.K., that such could not be paid to me at Home as the matter would be settied in Hong Kong and the matter was having attention. I have since been disappointed no

claims would be met here and that such claims would be given to those who intend making their nome in U.K. and not returning to Hong Kong. I leit U.K. on Stn April, 1940, with the understanding that my har Claim would be paid in Hong Kong, copies of letters coníirming same are attached for your kind perusal.

During my seven months here, I have not been able to find a flat and the four of us are living with friends in two congested rooms. Furthermore, my health has also retarded me from getting employment. I was invalided out from my former employment, with whom I had served faithfully for 25 years and were given accommodation during my service with them. As you were informed, I was retired by the Firm through high blood pressure through privations directly caused during my three years and eight months internment in Stanley
