Dear Sir,
We are writing to you at the suggestion of the Federation of British Industries as to the possibility of formulating a claim in respect of the loss of consignment stocks held by us in Hong Kong.
In 1940 certain consignment stocks held by us in Hong Kong were destroyed or mis-appropriated by Enemy action.
It seems that considerable delay is taking place in securing settlement of claims relating to losses of this kind, and we shall be glad if you ill advise us what course, if any, may be open to us to secure a more expeditious consideration of our claim for indemnity
We have formulated a claim through our consignment agents, Reiss, Bradley & Co. Ltd. of Hong Kong, and we enclose for your information, a copy of the last letter dated 8th March 1949, which we received from those agents dealing with this subject.
The value of the stocks concerned is £174.19.11. C.J.F.
We may state that in January 1942 we approached the nery Debts Section of the Board of Trade with a view to registering particulars of this property.
