MERCHANT SHIPPING ORDINANCE, 1899.
(No. 10 of 1899).
WARRANT.
WHEREAS by Section 19 (1) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, (No. 10 of 1899), it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever occasion may arise, by warrant under his hand and the seal of the Colony, to form a Court (which shall be called the Marine Court) to nake investigations as to casualties affecting ships, or to inquire into charges of incompetency or misconduct on the part of masters, mates or engineers of ships;
AND WHEREAS notification has been made of the occurrence of casualty to a ship to wit the S.S. "HONG KHENG" being a chip of British nationality and registered at the Port of Singapore and in ownership of the Ho Hong Steamship Company (1932) Ltd. of Singapore (local agents the Ho Hong Steamship Company (1932) Ltd., 48a Bonham Strand West, Hong Kong), the said casualty having occurred at or about 4 a.m. on the morning of the 19th
day of July, 1947.
NOW THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers aforesaid, I, DAVID MERCER MACDOUGALL, Companion of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, officer Administering the Government of the Colony of Hong Kong and its Dependencies DO BY THIS MY WARRANT FORM a Court (which shall be called the Marine Court) for the purpose of an investigation into the occurrence of the casualty aforesaid, the said investigation to be held in conformity with the said Merchant shipping Ordinance, 1899, and Regulations in Table G made thereunder and published at page 319 of the Regulations of Hong Kong,
Volume I, (1937 Edition);
AND I DO BY THIS MY WARRANT DIRECT that the Marine Court
as aforesaid shall consist of the persons named in the Schedule
hereto.
