17th September, 1947.
I have seen your letter of 6th September to Creech Jones, who, as you know, has been away in the est Indies: and rather than trouble him during his short stay here before going on to New York, I an answering it myself.
We shall be glad to help in making your stay in Singapore as profitable as possible.
I have telegraphed the Acting Governor of Singapore, and I will write to you again when I have his reply.
