Cable and Wireless Ltd. have informed us that preliminary discussions have just commenced in Hong Kong between the Governor, the Postmaster General and the Company's Manager, with a view to the co-ordination of telecommunication services in the Colony under the control and operation of Cable and Wireless Ltd. with consequent economy of sites, equipment and personnel. The Postmaster General, Hong Kong, has asked the Company to submit estimates for the operation by them of the services at present run by the Government.
The talks are only in the preliminary stage but the Company will advise us of developments and we will continue to keep you informed.
