Shows the seating for the detachable shield panel on the left

side of the throne, which has evidently been fixed from behind with 10

pins or screws; it is probable that this shield was similar to that on

the right side of the throne (as seen in photograph No. 6) which bears

quarterly the Royal Arms of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Shows an opening in the back of the throne which was evidently

filled with an ornamental panel, as five threaded pins exist on the inside

perimeter. A full size drawing of this opening indicating the position

of the pins is attached. (See Drawing No. 2).

Photographs 6, 7, 8, and 9 are general views of the statue,

which shows few signs of disfigurement. Drawing No. 3 gives the general

dimensions of the statue.
