If you agree with my view on this point (I know it is the view of the Committee) that any help our Committee grant should not be taken into consideration by the Ministry, I suggest the reply to (12) should be to the effect that:

(1) Government does not consider our award should be taken into account by the Ministry owing to the different nature of the Schemes and that the 35/- per week should continue.

(2) An increase was granted by the Committee of which the 8. of S. was probably unaware when he sent (12).

(3) Limited funds make retrospective payment impossible other similar cases exist.

If they insist on stopping the Ministry of Pensions award, then the matter could be referred to the war Memorial Fund Committee for possible reconsideration of the present grant.
