Disposal of Crown Land.
As I have inferred in my telegram under reference
little advantage was taken by the public of the opportunity
to acquire Crown land by private treaty for home building as
authorized for one year by your telegram 686 of 1946.
2.
In view of the strong representations put forward
by the Unofficial Members of the Legislative Council during
the Housing Debate on July 10th, 1947, I deemed it wise
after careful deliberation in Executive Council, and in antici-
pation of your approval, to issue the attached statement.
