4 August, 1949.

Dear Jones,

Please refer to your letter of the 23rd July to Wallace about Ministry owned craft handed over to the Hong Kong Government.

2. I am sorry that your letter of the 5th April got overlooked; we had meant to let you know that, in spite of reminders, Hong Kong had not yet replied to our Savingram No.35 of the 13th January, 1949, and that we proposed to await their answer before asking the War Office about the histery of the craft, as your letter of the 11th January suggested.

3. This is actually still the position; we have again reminded Hong Kong that we are anxious to elear the matter up, and we will let you know as soon as we hear anything.

A.J.JONES, ESQ.,

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT,

Yours sincerely,

(D.J. KIRKNESS)
