totalling $5,377.56 were not finally due for payment until

after that date and only 14 Demand Notes to the amount of

$1,584.42 were actually in arrears.

C. APPEALS.

38. Five appeals to the Commissioner were lodged under

Section 65. They were disposed of as under:-

In one case dissatisfaction was expressed and notice of

intention of appeal to the Board of Review was given.

D. BOARD OF REVIEW.

39. The panel for the Board of Review, required by Section

66 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance, 1947 was appointed during

the year, the appointments being notified in the Gazette of

$7th October, 1947 (G. N. No. 806).

General Clerical Service, was appointed Clerk to the Board,

under Section 66(2). No appointment of a legal adviser, under

Section 66(3) had been made by the end of the year.
