Dear Palmer,
(24) (23) a
LONDON, W.C. 2
8th September, 1947.
Your letter of 30th August enclosing a copy of Hong Kong telegram No. 365 about annuity tables.
I am afraid that we cannot help. U.K. Income Tax enactments do not exclude any part of an annuity from assessment to tax; we regard the amuity wholly as income, so we do not need any tables to work out what Hong Kong describes as a reduction of capital.
Perhaps the Government Actuary or the Board of Trade would be able to assist
you.
H. Palmer, Esq.
Yours sincerely,
asurvicol
