Inland Revenue Department is administered and the degree of success the Department achieves in checking evasion. The despatch expresses concern at the delay in filling the two vacancies for Assessors Grade I. Action on these vacancies is being taken separatel♬ an offer is now being made to a suitable candidat e in Tangan ika Territory, but we are having some difficulty as regards the second vacancy.
5. I have not held these papers up for a very detailed examination of the Ordinance at this stage, as I think the first thing to do is to get copies of the despatch and the énclosures to the Board of Inland Revenue and the Treasury for their observations, and then to ask Finance Department and the Legal Advisers to examine the Ordinance in detail. ?
