In exercise of the powers conferred by section 25(4) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, the Governor in Council further amends Table M in the Regulations made under the said Ordinance as amended by Government Notification No. 1192 published in the Gazette of 1st November, 1940, as follows:-

In exercise of the power conferred on him by Article 13 of the Moratorium Proclamation as enacted by Article 2 of the Moratorium (No. 1) Amendment Proclamation as modified by and by virtue of the Law Amendment (Transitional Provisions) Ordinance, 1946, His Excellency the Governor has ordered and it is hereby ordered that, with effect from the publication hereof the securities specified in the Schedule hereto shall be exempt from the provisions of Articles 11 and 12 of the Moratorium Proclama- tion aforesaid:

Provided that no person shall register any dealings in such securities in any register kept under the Companies Ordinance, 1932, if he shall receive notice of any objection to such registration unless he shall first obtain the approval in writing of the Registrar of Companies for such registration.

On page 339 of Volume 1 of the Regulations of Hong Kong (1937 Edition) the following additional regulations shall be inserted immediately after regulation 16A-

Mooring at end of piers etc.

Mooring at Government etc. piers.

Lighting of piers. Government etc. piers.

Private piers.

16B. No vessel shall lie alongside the end of any pier, jetty or wharf unless that pier, jetty or wharf is specially designed and constructed for the purpose.

16c. No vessel shall moor to any part of any pier, jetty or wharf belonging to the Government or to the naval, military or air force authorities, except to the recognised mooring bollards and rings provided thereon as moorings.

16D.

All piers, jettys and wharves belonging to the Government or to the naval, military or air force authorities shall be lighted as follows:-

Within six feet of the outer end thereof and at a height of not less than ten feet or more than twenty feet above the deck thereof a red light shall be kept lighted between sunset and sunrise: Such light shall be so constructed and of such a type as to be visible from seaward on a dark night with clear atmosphere at distance of one mile.

All other piers, jettys and wharves shall at the cost of the owners thereof be lighted in like manner but with a green light or lights.
