An Ordinance to provide for the more efficient protec- tion of goods and supplies stored in Protected Places in the Colony.
It is hereby enacted by the Governor of the Colony of Singapore in accordance with the provisions of section 40 of the Singapore Colony Order in Council, 1946, as follows:--

1.--(1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Protected Short title Places Ordinance, 1946, and shall come into force on the and date to be specified by the Governor by notice in the Gazette.
(2) This Ordinance shall continue in force for a period of three months from the date of commencement:
Provided that the Governor may by notification in the Proviso. Gazette extend such period for such further period not exceeding nine months as he shall think fit.
2. In this Ordinance,
"protected place" means premises declared to be a protected place by virtue of the powers con- tained in any Essential Regulations made under the provisions of the Essential Regula- tions Proclamation.
