With regard to the terms of appointment, I agree to these. The only point to raise is the expression "to outline plans for this purpose this is the uncertain element in my work; e.g. in the case of Cyprus, I am only sending in a written Report at this stage.

If, however, for Hong Kong you wish this work carried out further for general sketch plans, you will see that this involves draftsmanship and consequently office expenses, and I should have to make a special arrangement, unless the fee covers such a contingency. Perhaps if the word general" were put in front of plans to read "to outline general plans" this would make the position clear?

In the case of Cyprus, I charged 500 guineas, plus travelling expenses, but not hotel accommodation when I was there. I think this ought to be included in my expenses for Hong Kong. I was three weeks on the Island of Cyprus, and rather more than a week getting
