In your letter of the 8th July,
you suggested 750 guineas as the fee for
your visit to Hong Kong of 6 weeks later on
this year, and that in addition hotel
accommodation should be included in your
expenses.

On this latter point I find
that it is not the practice for us
cover the actual cost of hotel accommodation
in the case of such visits, but it is
usual to pay, in addition to the fee,
and

for visitors abroad generally.

case of Hong Kong the allowance is at the

part of the visit a reduction by two thirds
would be necessary. No allowances are
payable en route where the fare covers
