EVIDENCE OF HUNG YUK SHU NO. 1 COMPRADORE OF THE "KWONG TUNG"

AFFIRMED.
My name is Hung Yuk Shu and I am No. 1 Compradore
on board the "Kwong Tung". I was on board at the time
of the fire. Eleven ist Class saloon tickets had been
sold,
five unberthed 1st Class and fifteen 2nd Class
tickets together with 37 3rd class and 334 steerage cla ss.
Altogether 402 passengers. There was no cargo on board.
Each steerage passenger xxx his ticket is allowed 40 lbs
of baggage.

Anything above 40 lbs is charged as excess
baggage. Tickets can be obtained on board after the departa
ure of the vessel. When the ship sails I do not know
exactly how many passengers are on board. I do not know how many passangers and possible friends were on board
the ship at the time of the outbreak of fire. Passengers

Passengers on the main deck may use them provided they do
not cause any obstruction. Steerage passengers would not
put their baggage in a Baggage Room or reserved area
fear of it becoming mixed with that of others.
