Many thanks for your letter of the 27th May informing us of negotiations which have taken place in connection with the above matter, as to which we gather the British Authorities concerned, have been kept fully informed. So far as we our- selves are concerned, we can only confirm that, as I conveyed in my letter to Mr.Rigg of the 10th December last, we are unable to accept any liability in respect of the repairs in question.
