Payments of damages to Rosary Hill Red Cross Home at Hongkong.

Our letter of March 27,1947

100

Dear Sir,

With further reference to our above mentioned letter, we have the pleasure to inform you that we received a letter from Mr. Zindel, our delegate in Hongkong, and we think we cannot do better than giving you copy of it hereafter:

(voir copie de letter Zindel No.50/47).

As appears in our delegate's letter, the compromise-settlement proposed on an acceptable basis several times by the latter, has come to nothing and the deadlock at which we have arrived no longer allows us to foresee finding a solution ourselves of this matter.

We concur with Mr. Zindel that the responsible

British authorities would be solely competent to settle

this matter, the more so that the damage undergone by "St.Albert's Convent" occurred not only during the period it was used as "Rosary Hill R.C.Home" (1943/45) but also prior to and afterwards

by the British troops who were stationed there.

We are at all times fully prepared to furnish any additional information which may be desired and remain,

Yours sincerely,

(s) CUCHET
