with reference to my note No. Z 5384/388/41 of
the 7th July 1948 about compensation for the damage caused to the Convent of San Alberto el Magno in Hong Kong during the time of its requisition, I have the honour to inform you that the matter is being pursued between the Government of Hong Kong and the local representatives of the Spanish Procuration. Considerable delay was caused by the fact that the claimants had never submitted a clear claim to the Hong Kong authorities. It is understood, however,
that this is now being done, and upon its receipt, the Government of Hong Kong will give the claim their careful consideration.
