John Philip Aserappa, Administrative Officer in the Ceylon Civil Service.
Born Calcutta 1917.
Father Singhalese, retired officer of Indian Railway Service. Mother English- woman. Apart from first 18 months of his life the entire career of Aserappa until 1940 was spent in the United Kingdom and his appearance, speech and approach are entirely English.
