NOTES.

The 1941 salary scales are shewn in the centre of the Table and are in Dollars

and Sterling so as to the more easily effect comparision with both 1941 and

1948 scales.

1941 and 1948 scales advance by years of service and by efficiency, whilst

1946 scales advances according to age alone.

The 1941 scales apply only to pre-war men and the 1946 scales only to post-war

men. The 1946 scales were applied by granting men one increment for every

year of age ( not service )above the age of 26 years.

The increment of £260 p.a. did not exist in the 1941 scale, but as from the

next increment in the 1946 scale of £270 p.a. the scales are identical.

On the older scales men with thirteen years service lose up to three increments

when converting to the new 1948 scale as is shewn by the Conversion Arrows,

shewn rising from the 1941 to the 1948 scales.
