Sir,

I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter 6177/45 of the 6th. Sept. 1947 and in doing so respect the fact that Government is in possession of the information contained in my letter of the 11th. August 1947.

I very much regret to say that the Commissioner of Polices' letter of the 8th. August 1947 does not convey to me the intentions of Government or of how the "inexplicable clerical error" arose, nor does your letter refer to the fact that requests for extensions were ever refused, clarification is requested.

I anticipate that Government is in possession of all correspondence on the subject of the said Memorandum and I would very much appreciate detailed information regarding what has been done concerning same.

"no good

The concluding part of your letter in part reads :- purpose would be served by continuing this correspondence".

May I please be informed what this means?

I have the honour to be Sir,

Your obedient Servant,

Inspector.
