Sir,
I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your
letter of 11th. August 1947 on the subject of the expiration
of the period during which members of the European Inspectorate

the Service, and to inform you that the memorandum addressed to you on 8th. August by the Commissioner of Police correctly
informed you both regarding the intentions of this Government

came accidentally to be extended to the 15th. July.
Your memorandum under acknowledgement does not includ●
any information which was not already in the possession of
this Government and I am to say that no good purpose would be
served by continuing this correspondence.

I am, Sir,
Your obedient servant,
sa. K.M.A. Barnett. for Colonial Secretary.
