Dear MacDougal,

I enclose a copy of a note of a meeting between Lord Listowel and Inspector hepherd of the Hong Kong Police.

The allegation in the first paragraph was made known to Sir Alexander Grantham, and I believe that he intended to have the matter looked into. od bistowel would be grateful to know of the outcome of any investition which may have been made.

There is also another matter which otands over from Lord Listowel's visit to Mongong. The Director of "edical Services submi ten to Lord histowel a schedule showing how certain employees of the edical Department were treated during the occupation, and

su porting a claim to be paid back pay for the ocupation period in virtue of the fact that they remained at their posts on the orders of the Director of Tedical ervices, Dr. Newton. Dr. Fewton was acked to submit a duplicate of the schedule to you, and ord i towel would be grateful to have your comments upon it, and upon the claim of the employees.
