Thank you for your letters of the 3rd May and 11th May, 1948, about two matters which remain over from Lord Listowel's visit to Hong Kong.

The case of Inspector Shepherd of the Hong Kong Police has been dealt with in the Governor's confidential Staff despatch No. 31 of the 29th April, 1948, to the Secretary of State, which must have crossed your letter of 3rd May to me.

A separate letter is being sent to you about the claim to back pay during the occupation by certain members of the Medical Department.
