As regards the matters raised in the
enclosure to Mr. Parsons' letter, I am afraid that until we have received the petition through the Governor, with his observations, there is not very much that I can say concerning the prospects of promotion, seniority and conditions of service generally as pertaining to those scabers of Bome police forces who were recruited for saployment with the Hong Kong Police Force. It is a fact, however, that rhcn some of these officers were recruited in the United Kingdom the effect of such recruitment upon their pensionable status in the United That matter Kingdom was not always fully appreciated.
