20. There remains one point which deserves consideration and that brings us back to the time scale. It may not always be desirable to appoint the senior officer on the time scale to the following posts:- Superintendent (U.B)
ong Kong, Superintendent (U.B.) Mainland and the Superinten- dets under D.B. namely Superintendents C.I.C. and Special Branch. In the absence of any intermediate superscale appointment i.e. junior to D. C.P. it is recommended that these four posts should carry a charge allowance of £100.-/- per annum each.
