In the absence of your comments on Salarles Commission's report in general it is difficult to suggest suitable scale for this post. Scale proposed in my staff despatch No.118 of 7th October is current unrevised scale for Labour Officer. On the Commission's recommendations this would be revised to £665 to £1,510 inclusive of expatriation pay. I am inclined to adhere to this recommendation if a candidate suitable for long term appointment can be found, but for older officer on 3 years agreement I would be prepared to agree to £1,400 inclusive of expatriation pay. Commission made no recommendation regarding Director of Fisheries.
