1. Appointment of the Director of Fisheries, Hong Kong.

Suggestion that Mr. G. A. Steven (Plymouth) be appointed at a salary of £1300 - £30 - £1600 submitted to R. H. Burt and C. F. Hickling on 28th January.

3.

4.

Grant towards building and equipment of Fisheries Research Station.

Draft memo together with detailed plans and drawings, with request for consideration of vote of £50,000 sent for criticism and comment to C. F. Hickling on 29th January. Discussions held 31st January with Hickling; draft returned, plan of action outlined. Appointment of Secretary or Senior Stenographer to unit.

This post in Hong Kong is temporarily occupied by a Mrs. Bliss (loaned by Messrs. Gilman & Co., Hong Kong). In view of the fact that Mrs. Penny will be my Confidential Assistant (if? etc.) it is necessary for the Hong Kong Government to allocate one of its stenographic staff to this post. I suggest that Miss Olive Redwood now in England at 46 Sunnymede Avenue, Gillingham, Kent be considered.
