The Under-Secretary of State,

London. S.2.1,

Dear Sir,

RECEIVEL

29 JAN 1947

C, O. REGY

With reference to your letter of the 23rd August, 1946, my Company are still not satisfied with the decision that the Government should not pay the passages of members of the Staff returning to Hongkong.

They maintain that payment for these passages was promised at the time of the re-occupation of Hongkong.

They have taken up the matter with the Hongkong Government and they understand a despatch was sent to you in London some two months ago, on the subject.

I should be glad to know if this matter has been re-considered and if any further decision has been made on it.

Yours truly,

22. from
