MR. GALSWORTHY.

(a) It is difficult without seeing the whole draft of the Bill, to answer your question; but I am inclined to think that the amendment does not entirely meet the point. I think we might simply reply suggesting for their consideration that the definition should read "the Chief Justice acting in purported exercise of the divorce andor jurisdiction of the Supreme Court at Stanley, Hong Kong. *

(b)

(c)

I agree.

I have agreed the draft letter with amendments. I should prefer not to give my telephone number, because it will be better if they were to write, particularly as I shall probably be absent from the office for the next two weeks or so.

oould If,

Mr. Dale may prefer the discussion to be deferred until my return, and an appointment be made accordingly for some time next month. however, it is necessary to fix an earlier date, then for his information or that of any other member of the Legal staff who sees these Solicitors, I would invite attention to the two points which have to be made :

(ユ)

(2)

The reason for doubting whether the decrees were valid, and

the doubt as to the legal effectiveness of the validating Ordinance, if the husband was not domiciled in Hong Kong at the time.

We want to get from the Solicitors some information as to the domicile of their client.
