Estimates for the two major Hong Kong
items, viz. :-
(a)
interest-free loan towards
construction of Deep Bay
Kirport
(b) grant to University
and I now write to put forward our
proposals.
(a) Airport Loan.

No provision for payments from
H. M. G. 's interest-free loan of up to
£3,000,000 for the construction of the
Deep Bay Airport has yet been made
(vide Bryant's letter of the 18th
January 1949 to Russell Edmunds).
3. You have received copies of our Copy d(13) telegram No. 1523 to Hong Kong and of
cory (14) Hong Kong's telegram No. 1188 in reply to
it (I attach further copies for ease of
reference). Our telegram No. 1523 was
sent after consultation with you.
