THE INTER-UNIVERSITY COUNCIL FOR
HIGHER EDUCATION IN THE COLONIES,
8, Park Gar Street, London, W.1.
Mayfir 7356x 8166 Ext. 147.
Sir,
30th April, 1947.
156
I am instructed by the Inter-University Council to inform you that at its last meeting the Council was informed that no final decision had yet been reached on the recommendations of the Hong Kong University Advisory Committee, and the Council recorded its grave concern at the long delay. The Council felt that the absence of & decision on the general recommendations of the Report was causing considerable harm to the University by preventing any but emergency action being taken by the University during the current session in such matters as staffing, etc. The Council hoped, therefore, that decisions would soon be taken in order to relieve the University from the present uncertainties.
Yours faithfully,
WALTER ADAMS
Secretary. 4. Compbell.
The Under-Secretary of State
for the Colonies.
